Why Affordable Housing?
For the last decade, residential property prices in major metros and cities across India have risen to levels comparable to those of major European and US cities and suburbs. And all the while, salary levels for the middle class consumer in India have not been able to keep pace with rapidly increasing real estate prices. These dynamics have already resulted in a major shortage of affordable housing supply.
This shortage is now set to be further enhanced by the several million new entrants into the growing Indian middle segments in the coming decade. By some estimates, this shortage is expected to hit several thousands of millions of square feet over the next decade in India!
Vasathi has therefore been founded to exclusively address this gap in affordable middle class housing in India.
